This bad review is because of poor management decisions by the front desk of the Hilton Post oak. A group gathering tonight let out with a few hundred people. The ticket machine outside the lobby where you pay for the parking garage (and there is only one machine) was broken. After the crowd waited a long time, people just went to their cars, however this created a line of around 100 cars backed up to the 4th floor of the parking garage trying to get out, but nobody could because the ticket machine outside the lobby was broken. While sitting in the parking garage line for close to an hour (not moving much at all), we called the front desk of the Hilton three times to tell them the problem, and that they should just open the parking garage gate and lets cars flow out freely. Not only did it take awhile to get anything done, when they did act, they brought an employee to the parking garage exit, but told him to take $7 from each car before letting them out. This took forever (only cash, many didn't appear to have the correct change). It took us over an hour and we were relatively close to the front of the line. I can't imagine how long it took for the poor folks stuck up on the 4th floor. This was a poor decision by the front desk - they should have forgone the few hundred dollars and just opened the gate, saving people probably 1-2 hours of being stuck in their parking garage ... all because their (one) ticket machine outside the lobby wasn't working. This will cost the hotel much more in lost goodwill than the little amount of parking $ they took. I'd give zero start if i could. Very disappointed.

Love the front desk staff getting us the room we requested. Loved the pool.
Self parking $17.50/nite and they do not restrict smoking in the pool area. They should put up no smoking signs.

Sorry to say but nothing was worth mentioning. All just adequate.
I resent having to join a loyalty program in order to have free wifi. It feels pushy and corporate. Tiny toiletries. A general feeling of cost cutting pervades the property. Overall bland and depressing due to outdated design.

Hot water takes quite a while to arrive when you want to take a shower.

The staff were very courteous and helpful. The Hilton Shuttle was very useful. And most of all the view from the 12th floor really amazing. Many thanks to Barbara Bryant of the front office.
Surprisingly, I saw a few mosquitoes.

This Hotel was amazing! From the organization of things to the cleanliness. The comfort of the beds and the hospitality of the staff. There to cater to our every need although we didn't need much. I would definitely be staying here every trip to Houston!

Average room interior
When I checked into the Hilton Galletia Houston they were unable to find my reservation. The did not have record of my Bookings.com confirmation number and after many attempts were finally able to find my reservation under my name. I believe my reservation made through Bookings.com was the reason I was given a room on the busy banquet room floor, with banquet rooms right across the hall. The noisy pool and bar (with music) were right outside of my room on the 2nd floor. When I asked to be moved to a quieter room, I was moved to a room on the 3rd floor, but still with the bar noise and pool outside my window. Despite paying $379/night I was not treated as well as when I book directly with the hotels, and I've secured much better rates and rooms. It's appearent that most hotels block certain rooms for reservations made through similar booking sites. I've had the same experience with Booked.net, Tivago ... etc. never again.

The location to the Galleria was good, and the grounds were nice.
Layout of the room was poor. Example: the closet was inside the bathroom area. The coffee in the room was gross and the coffee machine was in need of cleaning. A few people in our group didn't have hot water in their room. The pool wasn't heated and staff was not very warm when asked where it was located. Considering this was the "Hilton" I was disappointed.

Staff were very kind and helpfull. Shutlle bus is available for some short distance.Room is a good size , very clean, and confortable. Bed was king size and very comfortable. Complementary drinking water , tea and cofee were availale with cofee making machine. Location of the hotel worked good for me. There are some shopping centers ( Marshal, target, Galeria ) and some good restorants around.

They did not have the Booked.net reservations except for one of them (I booked four) and said they were cancelled when in fact they weren't cancelled. Very stressful. After booking directly with hotel they phoned later and asked if we still wanted the Booking. Com reservations! Staff were friendly but they were disorganized . They almost seemed in start up mode. With some good management oversight from someone in the hotel business service would be vastly improved. They gave my parents a room with a high window with a view of air conditioning units. The room was dusty. This is the one reservation they said they had through Booked.net which tells me they give the less desirable rooms to those who don't book directly through hotel. My parents aren't complainers and would not ask for a better room.
